At Kosugiyu Tonari, we offer free tours of our facility for those interested in becoming members. Please apply using the form below.

About Site Visits

In addition to tours for prospective members, we also offer paid site visits for others who wish to learn more about Kosugiyu Tonari.

Please note that site visits hosted by our founder have limited availability, so we recommend early scheduling.
A cancellation fee of 50% will be charged for cancellations made within three days of the scheduled visit, and 100% will be charged for same-day cancellations.

About Space Rental

At Kosugiyu Tonari, we offer a private rental plan for the entire facility exclusively on our regular closing day, Thursdays.
Please note that availability will be finalized upon consultation, as we may need to coordinate with other events.
Feel free to contact us first to discuss your preferred dates.

Please note that cancellations made within 7 days of the reservation date, including the day of use, will incur a 100% cancellation fee.

    Entire building rental (1st Floor: 48㎡ / 2nd Floor: 48㎡ / 3rd Floor: 30㎡)

    Thursdays, 9:00 AM – 10:00 PM

  • Rental Fees

    1 hour: ¥30,000 / 3 hours: from ¥70,000
    * If you wish to use the kitchen, an additional ¥20,000 per day will be charged.

  • Capacity

    Approx. 40–50 people for the entire building

  • Examples of Use

    Talk events, workshops, recruitment events, yoga classes, shogi or rakugo gatherings, and more.

For rentals longer than 3 hours or if you wish to use both the 1st and 2nd floors together, please mention this when you inquire.
Please ensure that you understand the concept of Kosugiyu Tonari before using the space.

Yuichi Kato

Architect / CEO of Sento Gurashi / Full-time Lecturer at Tohoku University of Art & Design / Co-Representative Director of Mogami no Kurashisha.
Born in 1987 in Yamagata Prefecture, Kato withdrew from the doctoral program at Tohoku University before completion.
Focusing on the integration of design and management, he leads projects such as Kosugiyu Tonari, a shared space connected to a public bathhouse, and revitalization initiatives for vacant houses utilizing local resources.
His notable architectural works include the Saga Jonai Area Renovation and the Revitalization of the Former Fuji Elementary School.
His main publications include Creative Local, Working Across Multiple Bases, and Community Development Inspired by Sento.
